The first sip has a medium viscosity that is accompanied by notes of cinnamon, caramel, vanilla, and oak. The second sip produced a concentrated heat in the front and mid-palate. Faint hints of banana were present. The third sip began with a burst of caramel, that transitioned to notes of honey and vanilla.
Sazerac withdrew both Buffalo Trace and Barton 1792 from the KDA in late 2009, effectively ending their official association with the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. Today, Sazerac owns both Buffalo Trace and Barton 1792 distilleries.
